The Ghost of the St Annes Clubhouse Fruit Machines

St Annes Clubhouse

The ghost that haunts and empties the "bandits" when no one is there has yet to be seen, but one day it will. So, who is the ghost of the bandits? Well, no-one is really sure, but everyone knows that it is only a matter of time before the ghost makes him or herself known to the members.

How will the ghost manifest itself? Perhaps it will be the sound of phantom coins dropping in the bandits, or maybe a chilling laugh as yet another club member loses his money.

"How do you know that there is a ghost?" you may ask. The evidence is clear to those who know and play the machines. Money drops down the back of the machines, but nothing is paid out. The machines are not emptied but the next night, the money is no longer dropping down the back! How can this be? It has to be a ghost!

A renowned player of the bandits recounts his story :-,
"One night I was the last person to play the machine and money was dropping down the back. It was definitely due to drop. So, I came in early, opening time in fact, to try and get my money back. Apart from the bar staff, there was nobody else in the club. I put in my first pound but it didn't drop down the back. I asked one of the Committee if anyone had been playing the machine during the day or if it had been emptied but they said not. The only possible explanation has to be a ghost."

Other members have said the same thing. The Treasurer has confirmed that the machines haven't been emptied and that the payout percentage is set high at 78%.
