BA(Hons) Sports Studies

Richard started playing cricket at 16. he had trials with Worcester at 19 before entering university at St Martins, Lancaster where he obtained a BA (Honours) in Sports Studies. He made his Northern League first XI debut against St Annes at Lancaster. On his return to Thornton Cleveleys he played regularly for Fleetwood. His caoching career commenced in 2000 and has culminated in him being asked to attend a level three course at Old Trafford. He has been coaching for the Lancashire Cricket Board on various courses held along the Fylde Coast. His reputation has grown considerably over the last four years and he is well respected.

His nickname is 'Iceman' after one of the pilots in the film 'Top Gun' who was cool, good looking and a top guy. His favourite player is Shaun Pollock for obvious reasons (note the hair)!!!
