Announcements
The outdoor season commences on 7th April following the indoor sessions that have been going on throughout February and March. The committee are continually trying to improve the club and the junior section in particular. This is of paramount importance to the club's future both on the field and indeed off the field.
It is my first year as Junior Cricket Chairman and I have been very impressed with what I have seen so far. The indoor sessions have been very well attended and I have seen a lot of talent on display. I have also been impressed with the attitude of the players and they have all conducted themselves well throughout the sessions. This has enabled the smooth running of the sessions as it is difficult in such a small area. The space has been used to the maximum and the boys seem to have enjoyed their cricket. This is the main objective for the coaches, not only to produce good cricketers but for all the boys to enjoy what they are doing.
As a club we are keen to see our junior's and their parents using the club as they are our future. So please feel free to use our/your facilities and of course the bar!!!! It makes a difference to the boys to see as many people as possible supporting them so please make every effort to attend any of the matches.
We are developing the junior cricket channel on our website and are looking to continually improve this over the season. This will take time and we will be grateful for any opinions/advice you may have on how we can improve.
I am looking forward to the 2008 season and I am very optimistic of a good season.

Junior Tour To South Africa
We are planning to run a tour to South Africa at the end of 2009/2010. This will coincide with the South Africa Vs England test series. This will be run for players and families or indeed club members.
The plan is to have two teams from the club with the age groups yet to be determined. It will also incorporate watching England plus other trips and excursions to game reserves, vineyards and other places of interest. We intend to keep the cost down as much as possible and will be running fund raising events to help with the cost.
We will require help and support from parents in order to run the trip and further information will be provided as soon as possible.
If anyone has any questions or require further details please see John Cotton at the club.

Lytham St Annes Express
I know a few people have commented regarding our juniors not appearing within the Lytham St Annes Express. We have over the past couple of years sent many articles to the paper but unfortunately few have been printed. We are at a loss to know why this would be the case.
However, our Chairman has had some expressive forthright dialogue with the newspaper and we are told we will get coverage from now on, starting this week (03/04/08).
