Thriving Junior Teams At St Annes CC

We presently run 8 junior teams from under 10 to under 17, the most we have ever run. This means we have over 50 players taking part in competitive cricket respresenting St Annes CC.

The players range in ages from the youngest at age 7 up to our 17 year olds. We also run a thriving Kwik Cricket group on a Monday evening which helps to generate our stars of the future.

This season we have also seen many of our junior players selected to play cricket at District level (run by the Lancashire Cricket Board) and representing the league at under 15 Level.

It has further been very pleasing to see many junior players representing the senior teams on a regualr basis in addition to several 18/19 year olds who've progressed through the junior teams to our First and Second XI.

The junior committee at St Annes CC recognise the value of a strong junior structure and are committed to actively promoting and funding our junior section. I wish to thank them for the help and invaluable support they provide.

Membership Child Protection Registration Coaching Teams

Membership

The annual membership fee includes coaching for all Monday and Wednesday nights throughout the cricket season. Junior membership fees are:

Child Protection Policy

St. Annes Cricket Club is committed to ensuring that equity is incorporated across all aspects of its development. In doing so, it acknowledges and has adopted the ECB and Sport England definition of sports equity to demonstrate awareness and responsibility in the key area of child protection.

St Annes Cricket Club has adopted the Child Protection Policy and operates within the guidelines recommended by the English Cricket Board (SAFE HANDS) and Lancashire Sport. All volunteers, coaches and officials working with young people are familiar with these guidelines and are screened to check their suitability to work with young people.

Junior Registration

Registration is open to all children from 7 to 15 years of age. Both boys & girls are equally welcome. At registration the appropriate payment should be made in exchange for a club registration pack.

Parents and/or guardians are requested to sign certain documents in line with Sport England and England Cricket Board Clubmark and NSPCC and ECB Child Protection requirements.

Coaching Junior Cricketers

Coaching is delivered by England Cricket Board qualified coaches. All coaching follows guidelines laid down in the ECB coaches manual. Children will be allocated to coaches based mainly on their age. There is the opportunity for talented children to play above their age group.

Teams will be chosen by the respective Team Managers. All junior teams play in the Palace Shield Junior League.

Junior Teams

St Annes Cricket Club has a thriving junior section and runs 8 junior teams for the 2011 season: U10s, U11A, U11B, U13A, U13B, U15A, U15B and U17s.

There is also a "Kwik Cricket" group which helps introduce boys & girls to the game using plastic bats & balls.
