Welcome to the Junior Section of the St Annes CC website
St. Annes Cricket Club is committed to ensuring that equity is incorporated across all aspects of its development. In doing so, it acknowledges and has adopted the ECB and Sport England definition of sports equity to demonstrate awareness and responsibility in the key area of child protection.
St Annes Cricket Club has adopted the Child Protection Policy and operates within the guidelines recommended by the English Cricket Board (SAFE HANDS) and Lancashire Sport. All volunteers, coaches and officials working with young people are familiar with these guidelines and are screened to check their suitability to work with young people.
All juniors both old & new are required to register
Registration is open to all children from 7 to 15 years of age. Both boys & girls are equally welcome.
At registration the appropriate payment should be made in exchange for a club registration pack.
Parents/guardians are requested to sign certain documents in line with Sport England/England Cricket Board Clubmark and NSPCC/ECB Child Protection requirements.
St Annes CC operates under the guidance of the above mentioned policies.
Our appointed Welfare Officer is Gerry Thomas.
Coaching is delivered by England Cricket Board qualified coaches. All coaching follows guidelines laid down in the ECB coaches manual.
Gerry Thomas is our Coach Development Officer.
Children will be allocated to coaches based mainly on their age. There is the opportunity for talented children to play above their age group.
Teams will be chosen by the respective Team Managers. All junior teams play in the Palace Shield Junior League.
St Annes have entered teams at under 11, under 13 & under 15 age gfroups. There is also a "Kwik Cricket" section which helps introduce boys & girls to the game using plastic bats & balls.
Junior membership costs:-
- Juniors (11 - 13) - £5.
- Juniors (13 - 16) - £10
- Family membership including junior player(s) under age 11 - £12
This includes coaching for all Monday and Wednesday nights throughout the season.
