Dave's Dilemmas - a brand new service being provided by Dave Serella, your local, caring, community advisor.

"We are all faced with difficult decisions in our daily lives, but many people have real dilemmas. My service is there to help those unfortunate people make the right choice. I see it as my duty - no my mission to society to provide this service for them - Oh! and for a pint of course".

Dave Serella - who is he?

Dave, or Mr Serella, as he is known to his friends, has been a member of St. Annes CC for almost as long as anyone can remember. In all this time, he has been offering free advice to anyone willing to listen, all for the price of a pint.

Give him a microphone and he will sing, give him a script and he will act, give him a pint and he will drink. He's that kind of a guy.

It was after a recent dilemma of his own that Dave discovered his true calling.

"I was home alone when I realised that I was having a dilemma and I needed some advice. I telephoned Century Radios - Jezzas Confessions but I lost my nerve and turned off my mobile when I realised that I was going to be 'On-Air'. I thought to myself, if it happens to me there must be other people that have the same problem. That's when I realised my true calling". He immediately shaved off his moustache to make himself look younger and to fit with his new responsible personna.

Now Dave has a dilemma of his own - does he give up the day job and devote himself to helping others, or does he stay part-time, as he is now, holding regular surgeries in the cricket club. We will have to wait and see.

"My son's rabbit was ill, on deaths door in fact, and I didn't know what to do. If I told the lad bunny was dying, it would have broken his little heart. I just didn't know what to do - so I had a word with Dave. He suggested that I buy the boy a baby rabbit and then explain to my son that the first rabbit had died giving birth to the baby. Great idea except that it was a male rabbit! Dave suggested that I get round this by explaining that there had been a mix up and that what we thought was a boy rabbit was in fact a girl."

"Fortunately, the rabbit made a remarkable recovery and I've been spared from having to follow Dave's suggestion".

Surgeries are held at St. Annes Cricket Club on most weeknight evenings and on Sunday afternoons if there's football on.
