Match Report
Having won the toss and asked St Annes to bat on a good wicket and quick outfield it was difficult to understand why last years champions Lancaster did not try to overtake the St Annes total. St Annes batted well to post a very competitive but achievable 219 for 7, with experienced trio Andy Kellett (57), Sean Bickerdike (55) and Neil Bradley (50) all making half centuries. The innings also included a very valuable 36 not out from Dave Hartley.
In reply Lancaster limped to 160 for 6 off their 50 overs with St Annes youngsters Ben Willis and Luke O'Dea the pick of the bowlers. St Annes next game is at home to Blackpool on bank holiday Monday.
