St Annes deservedly took maximum points with three balls of the match remaining.

Asked to bat first, they started poorly at 11-2 but rallied to stirring effect thanks firstly to Nigel Connolly(30) and Andy Hurst(33). The momentum was continued with a patient and stylish 28 from Matt Grindlay and an undefeated 43 from Ben Willis- a kniock packed with excellent shots.

Anchorsholme started comfortably at 20-1 but in no time they were 22-5. They dug in but St Annes chipped away and finally got their reward. Ian Howe with a terrific analysis of 3-19 off 16 overs again led the way with a huge hearted effort. Andy Hurst and Ben Willis rounded off fine all round shows with 4-31 and 2-34 with Willis taking two fine catches. The fielding and team spirit were top class and skipper Tim Rawstron is very proud of his hard working team.
