Match Report
St Annes lost the toss and Kendal decided to bat first. Ben Dowling got the 2nds off to a great start bowling numbers 1 and 3 of Kendal in his first two overs. Greg Whitehead also took a couple of wickets in his first spell. Kendal never really recovered and after good spells from Seve Hurst and Dave Bartholomew were eventually bowled out for 60.
Funniest moment came when Greg Whitehead assumed he was coming back for his second spell after Dave Bartholomew had bowled 6 overs which meant within the laws Greg could come back on. The captain hadn't told Greg he was coming back on, as the captain and Dave Bartholomew chatted about his Barty's field, Greg had cap off, ball in hand and was ready to run in. The captain didn't have the heart to tell Greg he wasn't coming on so he left him to it! Nice to see someone so keen!.
In reply the batting changed a little. Usual opener Adam Taylor however batted through for his 25 not out. Welcome back Psycho!!. Paul Williams hit the winning runs with a boundary, his first runs of the season!. Well done Willy. A very comfortable 12 points for the 2nd X1.
