Match Report
Darwen won the toss and asked St Annes to bat on what looked like an excellent wicket. St Annes batted well as a team and amassed 240. A very impressive 90 from Neil Bradley was the standout innings. Also well done to Peter Jackson for a couple of lusty blows near the end and an excellent straight drive by league debutant 14 year old Nathan Bolus. Well done Nathan. keep an eye out for his name in the future. Adam taylor contributed a patient 75. A very good team effort by St Annes.
In reply St Annes took steady wickets but it was always going to be difficult to bowl Darwen out on such a good wicket. St Annes had to settle for a good winning draw as Darwen finished on 175 for 7. Special mention to young Stuart Walters who took the key wicket of Gary Jackson and to Nathan Bolus for his impressive spell.
St Annes now play Morecambe away twice next week in the league and then the semi final of the cup. Hopefully you can make it Gareth! And no
they're not both league games Jacko!
