Match Report
St Annes won what seemed like going to be a crucial toss in this local derby game where Blackpool were seeking revenge for their cup defeat to St.Annes a week earlier. Blackpool made a solid start with a fine 50 from opening batter Mercer. Rain fell steadily during the 1st innings but the umpires seen as so much cricket had been lost this summer sensibly let play carry on. This however made a difficult with a very wet ball for the St. Annes bowlers and fielders. St. Annes looked to have control but a impressive 70 from promising Blackpool batsman Penney took Blackpool to a total of 240.
St. Annes then made a fair start but lost a couple of earliesh wickets. Excellent 50's from axed first teamer Aiden Cotton and in form Neil Bradley took St Annes close but they eventually fell 20 short gaining a losing draw having lost 7 wickets. A good effort on a day where the team had no luck.
