Match Report
In a rain affected game St Annes could only manage a losing draw on a cold bank holiday. St Annes skipper Duncan Whalley won the toss and elected to field. Some wayward bowling and some good shots from professional Asad and particularlyu Patel led to Preston getting of to a flier and were 100 for 1 off 11 overs. The introduction of sub-professional Mahendra Nagamootoo stemmed the flow of runs and the next 39 overs only realised 150 runs, a brilliant catch from Russ Bradley saw the end of Patel for 86 and Nagamootoo went on to return figures of 7 for 74.
The St Annes reply was then cut short by 12 overs and with the score of the side batting first not being reduced under the league rules a victory for St Annes was always unlikely. Stephen Twist batted well for 77 no and aged opener Adrian 'Scaramonger' Darlington made 21.
