Match Report
Having been on the road for the 3 previous weeks St Annes made the most of a home fixture to comfortably beat Chorley by 8 wickets. The commitment shown during the early part of the season was know beginning to reap its rewards.
On a superb batting wicket Chorley made an impressive 240 for 3 off their 50 overs and should have made more if they had increased the scoring rate late in the innings. St Annes went in at tea confident they could overtake what they considered a below par score for the conditions and this is how it proved.
St Annes made a good start with openers Gareth Evans and Adrian 'Agassi' Darlington making 38 and 35 respectively. The experienced Ian Austin and Shane Harwood then took about the Chorley attack and finished the game with a full five overs left, Austin making 82 and Harwood 70. St Annes go away with twelve points to continue their rise up the table.
