| Match Report
The Members XI thoroughly deserved their thumping win against a slightly below strength and underperforming 4th team.
They bowled and fielded tidily throughout and restricted the 4ths to desperate swipes with only Velivela and Dougall coming out with any credit. The catching was good and at times outstanding with Jeff Hampton and Dave McNiven Jnr pouching some cracking efforts.
In reply, The Members got off to a storming start with Dave McNiven Jnr pounding out three fours and three towering sixes in his 36. Brother Scott looked equally threatening until Gary Woods removed him with a stunning catch in the deep. Dennis Wann quickly settled and powered a vast six off only his second ball on his way to 17 not out. Dave Starkey triggered a minor collapse but there was never any danger as the Members swept to a tremendous and well deserved win.
4th team skipper Tim Rawstron is looking forward to the rematch in two weeks when he expects a much improved performance from his team who whilst never complacent, were always second best.
