Match Report

St Annes kept their unbeaten run but were always second best and chasing the game.

Jolly Boys' much vaunted top order did not disappoint and bowlers were regularly switched in an effort to stem the easy flow of runs for Newman and Cox. Ian Howe was easily the pick of a hard working attack with an impressive return of 5-25 but for once the fielding was poor with three catches spilled and several misfields.

Jolly Boys' bowling was also impressive and for once the dependable and heavy scoring Nigel Bernstein failed to improve on 7. Paul Wilks again batted pleasingly to register a top score of 20 and Nick McKenzie offered staunch support. However, wickets continued to fall and thanks to a patient and unselfish 2 not out from keeper Nick Lees over 45 minutes and solid defence from Ian Howe and Mike Harris, the draw was achieved.

Jolly Boys take 10 points. St Annes take 7 points.
