Match Report

St. Annes 3rd team captain Paul Williams finally made his debut for the team on Saturday and got of to a GRAND start by losing the toss and was asked to bat, but it got a lot better after that with the opening pair putting on 94 for the first wicket. Matthew Purcell was the first to go after making 65 off 83 balls. Stalwart Tim Bernstein made a useful 51 before being bowled after his captain asked him to push the run rate up for the last few overs. The rest of the team chipped in with a few low scores to final finish up on 174 for 9. John Wilkinson ended up with 5 wickets off his 11 overs and Mick Whitehead 3 off 15.

Fleetwood made a steady start before losing 2 in 2 balls thanks to some good bowling from Nick McKenzie. John Wiilkinson made 32 before being dismissed by yet again Nick McKenzie. Fleetwood made 53 before heavy rain hit and called the game off which was hanging in the balance. Nick McKenzie ended up with 3 for 10 off his 10 overs.
