| Match Report
St Annes 2nds hosted Morecambe in this eagerly awaited match. The visitors won the toss and elected to field first and their decision looked justified as St Annes lost Andy Kellett early with the score on 16, but St Annes showed great bouncebackability to put on 127 for the 2nd wicket. Wonderful strokeplay from young Aiden Cotton (119) and a solid innings from Sean Bickerdike (30) swung the game St Annes way, and together with a productive late knock from Neil Bradley(35no) left St Annes on 233 for 4 off their 52 overs. This match was set for a grandstand finish but with Morecambe on 25-0 the rains came, there was a pause in the downpour during which the St Annes players made a gargantuan effort to get the square fit to resume but another torrential downpour put paid to any hopes of St Annes glory.
