| Match Report
Kendal elected to bat in this 2nd team game at a breezy but sun drenched Vernon Road. In perfect batting conditions Kendal progressed to 55 for the 1st wicket but failed to capitalise on the favourable conditions as the St Annes bowlers struggled to make an impact. A steady stream of runs and wickets followed and the innings closed on 191-9. Pick of the St Annes bowling was Ian Palmer with a tidy 3 for 38 off 13 overs.
In reply St Annes thoroughbred batting made Kendal's innings seem like a carthorse in comparison. Despite losing 2 early wickets St Annes quick running and glorious stroke-play ensured the 192 runs needed were knocked off for the loss of only 2 wickets. A magnificent unbeaten 3rd wicket partnership of 146 between Mr consistent, Andy Kellett 83 n.o. and the aggressive Adam Taylor 77 n.o. delighting a good sized home crowd.
