Whilst this was a tremendous morale boosting win for Blackpool's very young side who performed and conducted themselves with the greatest credit, there was the utmost frustration for St Annes.
Of the eleven players named, only nine turned up with the two missing players being key members with both bat and ball. Skipper Tim Rawstron's frustration was further compounded when Blackpool's two missing men turned up at the end of their innings and were thus eligible to field.
The core of Blackpool's innings was senior player Guy Sharrocks whose contribution of 60 out of 83 was crucial. Mike Harris again led the way in a big hearted show in the field with excellent figures of 5/32.Joel Harris pulled off two terrific run outs, Ashok Velivela held two fine catches and Rhydian Burston showed well behind the stumps.
The batting reply was patchy and although Sharrocks performed excellently with the ball, shot selection was questionable.
Blackpool take 16 points to St Annes'4.
