Match Report
On a very hot day when numbers looked desperate at seven players, the call was answered superbly by junior coach Gail Dougall and Liam Bell who, although unwell, not only top scored with a responsible 18 but also kept wicket tidily and pouched a good catch.
Openers Mick Auty and Gary Woods set out their stall to occupy the crease but were each unfortunately dismissed when looking set. Young Tom Shillito looked classy until offering a caught and bowled chance and then skipper Tim Rawstron in the unusually high position of four struck three defiant boundaries before chopping the ball onto his stumps in search of another.
The fielding reply was as spirited as ever but with nine players there were inevitably gaps. Tom Shillito looked a good all round prospect and Tom Heap as ever gave his all earning 1-14 off five overs.
Fleetwood take 16 points to St Annes' 1.
