St Annes thoroughly deserved their winning draw against senior opposition.
Put in to bat, things looked precarious at 2-2 but Gary Woods with a muscular 41 and the ever watchful Nigel Bernstein with 23 turned round the innings. A second batting point was gained thanks to Adrian Speakman who started quietly before compiling a most polished 36.
All the bowlers toiled hard to work their way through Baxi's innings but it was initially the hostility of Gary Woods (3/23) who achieved the breakthrough. He got great support from Michael Harris with 2/23 off 9 overs, Mick Auty (2/19) and Kuttappan Manoj who bowled six tight overs at the crucial end of the innings.
St Annes take 9 points to Baxi's 8.
