Match Report
A thumping four from tailender Andy McKay finally settled a tense affair and brought St Annes the win their spirit and effort deserved.
No batsman could really come to terms although Gary Woods threatened until he was caught behind. The real hero was the vastly experienced Nigel Connolly whose disciplined, unbeaten 26 guided them home especially when the 6th and 7th wickets fell at 64.
St Annes' performance in the field was a huge improvement on the previous week. Ahmed Hassan bowled fierily and with great promise. Peter Jackson again bowled well for 1-9 in 7 overs with Nigel Connolly's 7 costing a mere 4 runs. Tom Heap bowled with intelligence and patience to fully earn his 2-9 in 9 overs whilst Gary Woods maintained excellent line, length and pace at the end for 3-14 in 10 overs.
St Annes take 16 points to Blackpool's 3.
