Match Report
St Annes were soundly beaten for the first time in 8 games but the league leaders sadly soured their win through the over exuberant and abusive antics of some of their players.
St Annes' bowlers toiled hard but without reward on a hot day and were from time to time let down by sloppy fielding and a clear lack of mobility.
Setting out in pursuit of a huge total, wickets fell regularly and some dismissals were clearly dubiuos. Nevertheless, the ageless Mick Renshaw ignored the aggravation around him and in remaining undefeated with a brave 42, he was minutes away from salvaging a draw.
