St Annes' last chance of cup silverware disappeared as they went down in the bravest fashion to last year's Division 1 champions and cup specialists.
Responding well to stand-in skipper Mick Auty, they got a great start thanks to Vijay Chandrasekar (25) and keeper John Dougall (21). Michael Baer (15) and Manohar Malla (17) revived the innings as a decent total was eventually posted over 16 frenetic overs.
They all bowled and fielded their hearts out in reply but came second to Boston's greater experience. Perhaps 30 extra runs may have made the difference.
