Match Report
The weather was the only winner as St Annes were ill served by a losing draw.
Starting over an hour late and suffering a rain interrupion in the middle of Calder Vale's innings, St Annes were left with a derisory 8 overs in which to bat.
The fielding performance was perhaps the best of the season with Paul Wilks especially outstanding. It provided great support for the bowlers all of whom toiled tirelessly on a sodden track and against opponents who seemed intent only to bat out the full allocation of overs. Tom Heap bowled unchanged uphill for 14 overs and deserved better than 2-39 whilst Nigel Connolly, David Hartley and Peter Jackson all produced fiery spells.
Calder Vale take 7 points to St Annes 4.
