Match Report
St Annes Successfully banished the nightmare of the previous day with a complete team performance that sets up a semi-final cup clash at Blackpool CC.
Tim Rawstron successfully shuffled his bowling pack and was rewarded with all-round success. Mick Auty bowled with great control to fully earn his 4-15 whilst Tom Heap (3-32) nd Nigel Connolly whose 8 overs cost a mere 14 runs were the pick. They were supported by some tremendous fielding with James Atherton holding two fine catches and Peter Jackson pulling off two run-outs.
The batting was reply just as good. Mick Auty gave further evidence of his batting commitment with an excellent 37 and the vast experience of Nigel Connolly and Mick Renshaw all served to set up the win. Connolly struck two immense sixes in his 44 whilst Renshaw (15) was unlucky to be given out off what looked to be a bump ball.
They return to league action next week in the best possible heart.
