| Match Report
St Annes looked as if they would make heavy weather against a young and enthusiastic Blackpool line-up. The fielding was keen and sharp although numerous catches failed to go to hand whilst a number of sharp chances went down. Matt Dougall was the pick of the bowlers with his sharp pace and accuracy fully earning him 3-25. Mick Auty and Nigel Connolly had no luck and both will bowl a lot worse for better figures.
At 19 for 2 with both openers gone, St Annes had a big task on to reach their target in the two hours allowed. Another sound knock from Paul McCabe (50) formed the basis and when he was out, only a further 24 were required. Nigel Connolly (19) and Roger Hughes (15) were both out forcing the pace but the final sparkling stand was provided by the vastly experienced John Dougall (22 not out) and Mick Renshaw (16 not out) who shaped the win with five balls remaining.
St Annes take 16 points to Blackpool's 4.
