Match Report
A fascinating game finally swung in St Annes' favour and in the most emphatic style.
Fielding first, they most successfully contained their opponents until the last ten overs of the innings when everything seemed to fall apart and the hard work of Nigel Connolly, Mick Auty and Tom Heap looked to have been wasted.
Some harsh words at the tea interval looked to have failed to turn the tide as openers Auty and Roger Hughes were quickly dismissed and Paul Threapleton was run out. However, Connolly (66 not out) and Mick Renshaw (37 not out and welcomed back from injury) brought all their experience to bear to put together an unbroken stand of 115 that contained sixteen sparkling boundaries, some sharp running and a wealth of intelligent cricket.
St Annes take fifteen points to Blackpool's three.
