| Match Report
If only St Annes could have bowled as well as they had batted then surely it would have been them in the Wareing Final rather than Blackpool.
Blackpool simply raced away in the face of some ordinary bowling and had reached 86 in 12 overs. Ed Mahon was unfortunately dropped off a tough chance before he had scored and three more times later before Jon Ellis took his second fine catch of the game.
Batting first on a rain-affected track, St Annes made careful progress after the early loss of Atherton and Mick Auty grafted sensibly for his 21. The acceleration came when Roger Hughes (69n.o.) joined the talismanic Nigel Connolly (75). They added 132 in terrific style and must surely have thought they they had given the bowlers enough to work with.
