| Match Report
After being put in to bat, St Annes built a formidable total mainly due to a partnership of 144 runs for the third wicket berween professional Callaghan and captain Bradley. They both dominated the bowling and aere together for 35 overs.Callaghan hit five fours and three sixes, whilst Bradley hit six fours and one six. They both were out late in the innings as they chased quick runs.Adam Cotton showed there was no respite for the Morecambe bowlers with a quick 33 runs from 19 balls with three sixes. Morecambe were set 225 to win from 55 overs. St Annes declaring with three overs left.
St Annes looked to be on the road to victory with the Morecambe score on 64-4 --- Callaghan had struck with the first ball of the innings and Zak Taylor had bowled two in an over. However Bird and Woodhead proved to be Morecambe's saviours as they put together a 99 run stand and almost took the visitors to the edge of an unlikely victory. Following Bird's departure on 163 it was left to the tail to bat out for a draw.
It was another encouraging performance from St Annes for whom young wicket keeper James Ellis had a fine match and Zak Taylor's promise was rewarded with two wickets. Nine points to St Annes. Three points to Morecambe.
