| Match Report
St Annes were almost certainly robbed of victory when rain intervened at 6.12 with 29 overs left and the Darwen total on 75-5.
Earlier St Annes had made an impressive 212-6 built around a patient 93 from professional Dave Callaghan who came in in the fifth over and was still there at the close of the innings 55 overs later. He shared a stand of 55 with Darlington, 63 with Bradley and also 63 with Davies who outscored the Professional in the closing overs.Callaghan hit 12 fours in his three hour innings. Davies's breezy 40 came in just 36 minutes. Cordingley was the only Darwen bowler to emerge with any credit
Once St Annnes had broken the opening stand at 35 wickets tumbled.Callaghans accuracy won him two lbw decisions and Dave Taylors nagging length brought him greater rewards at the other end.
Once again it was another good team performance and the seven points gained saw St Annes move to second place in the table.
