| Match Report
St Annes gained quick revenge for their cup defeat a fortnight earlier.Captain Bradley's policy of batting when winning the toss enabled St Annes to set a target that was to prove too much for Fleetwood's unpredictable batting. The St Annes total was built around a second innings partnership of 113 between opener Darlington and professional Callaghan. Coming together in the sixth over,it was thirty one overs later before Fleetwood tasted success when Callaghan was caught at the wicket for 54 having hit nine fours. Darlington batted on and enjoyed a breezy partnership with Cotton before being fourth out at 177. Davies ensured a total of 210 was reached with a few lusty blows.Newman was the best of the opposition bowling with 3-34 and Laird bowled twenty one overs unchanged.Fleetwood then fell to the Callaghan and Taylor show -with Wright,Denning and Clinning all gone for 29 runs between them it was left to professional Pryor to show any resistance. He was last man out for 62 having seen the remaining seven Fleetwood batsmen score only 14 runs between them. Taylor returned his best bowling figures for the club with 6-43 and Fleetwood were all out in the 39th over. A second fifteen point win sees St Annes move further up the table and will be expecting to further progress against Preston on Monday.
