| Match Report
Any side that chases a total over 220 and reaches it deserves to win and the fact that St Annes reached the targret with five overs to spare was even more remarkable. St Annes looked to have let Lancaster off the hook as they reached 232 after being 169-7.Highlight of the innings was a splendid and stylish 70 from opener Hagen aproduct of Lancaster Grammar School. Burstow and Hiron gave the innings some late impetus and professional Callaghan and fellow opening bowler Davies were the main wicket takers.
With both openers gone for 37, it was St Annes who were on the back foot. Davies and Callaghan retrieved the situation, but when the latter was out on 112 in the 30th over a lot was still needed. Enter Cotton, who in the space of just 15 overs completely devastated the opposition bowling with some ferocious hitting. His 83 came from just 47 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes. He took St Annes to the brink of victory when he was out on 231. Bradley remained undefeated on 30 having played a minor but important role in the success.
A wonderful afternoons cricket especially for St Annes supporters
