Did the Busby Babes Come to St Annes?
In January or February of 1955 Mr F Keogh wrote to Matt Busby at Old Trafford inviting his team to come to St Annes for a game of cricket and this is the reply from Sir Matt suggesting that he was in favour of the idea. Can you imagine Sir Alex being in favour? Well it was fifty years ago so maybe it is time for a re-match!

I am in receipt of your letter regarding the proposed cricket match with St. Annes during the summer season.
I would be very glad if something could be arranged because it would be a nice outing for the boys, so I suggest that perhaps the best thing to do would be to drop a line to Jack Rowley who usually takes charge of the cricket side here, and see what the boys' reaction is to it. You could perhaps fix a date then.
