1911

St Annes CC 1911.

An excerpt from the St. Annes Express April 19th. 1911.

Believed to refer to the previous ground somewhere between Oxford Road and St. Davids Rd. North, although we can't be sure.

The previous season St. Annes had finished seventh in the Palace Shield and the Seconds finished sixth out of eight in the Fylde Junior League.

The first team in 1911 consisted of T. Wrigley (Captain), W.A.Hazlewood, E. Duckworth, N Partington, W.Taylor, F.W. Sherwood, T.R.Hoey (Club Sec.) F. Nuttall, W. Nuttall, J.W.Hindle and J. Roberts.

The Partington family still had connections after WW2. Bob was captain of the First team and J.G. (his brother) was always resplendent in a colourful cravat. Is the J. W. Hindle any relation to John Hindle who is still a member who provided us with the photographs of the 1930s. 40s and 50s?
